    teflon coating

I recently changed the stock bolt in my 10ba stealth to the bigger tactical bolt and love the look and feel of this change. I have been considering having the bolt teflon coated think that will make it even smoother.
    What do yuo guys say?

Not sure which one of the "teflon" coatings you're referring to but the black T or green T finish from Birdsong is the cats pajamas. It was originally developed for use on submarines.
It sure smoothed up the internals of a revolver that has been carried daily even through Georgias sweltering summers for 20 years even often front pocket carry with not a hint of rust or need for lubrication. They also did a fine job on a 56S AK that a buddy of mine owns and has put through the ringer for a couple of decades. It's a really amazing coating. These two weapons were done by Walter Birdsong himself before he passed, but it's my understanding that his son is still putting out some very good work.
I have a 1911 that has the Brownells teflon moly finish on it and even though the slide has a couple of wear marks from cycling after being tightened up to the lower there is no sign of rust or degradation of the metal. Though even when scratched it protects the metal it It just doesn't seem quite as durable.
Of these two I have had experience with, I would definitely say the professionally applied Birdsong black or green T is preferable and worth the extra coins. I'd probably send the whole weapon to be done.
