    Good day at the range.

I took my stainless 270 Axis to the range today after doing a few tweaks to the original stock. Based on something I read here, I decided to glue the trigger guard to the stock. This looks like a weak area in a stock that's not the stiffest. I also stuffed plastic in the butt stock to quiet it down. When I shot it, I no longer see the point of aim shifting downward as trigger pressure is applied. Groups at 100 yd were 15/16" (3 shots center-to-center)) with 150 gr Hornady bullets, and 5/8" with 130 gr ballistic tips.

    It's ready for hunting season.
