If you don't use a Jam nut on a muzzle brake, you will have to use spacer shims or have the brake timed to your barrel. I know I'm stating the obvious. But the jam nut you're looking at is a proven concept.
One of the most popular brakes, the APA Little Bastard uses the same type of jam nut and nobody has ever had any issues.
I've been using the Weaver 20moa rails and am very happy with them. They're very VERY affordable, they have a recoil lug, and they're made in the USA !
