    Older 110CL with loading problems

Evening, I'm new to this forum. I have an older 110CL chambered in 338-06. I luv how the rifle shooter, when it picks up the shells. The problem I'm having is when I open the bolt to chamber a round the bolt sometimes slips right over the shell or drops the shell half way into the chamber. Wondering if any one else has encountered this?

    Ideas would be appreciated

Sounds like the round is falling below the bolt head.

    What kind of magazine?

Could be the magazine is seated too low, spring too weak, or feed lips too tight.

When you work the bolt forward, how close is the bolt head to the feed lips? If they are really close, maybe try tweaking the feed lips so the cartridge feeds better.

I have had the same problem with my 30-06 in a 110 CL. I "opened" up the lips of the magazine just a hair. No problems now. Does not take much.
