    Bottom bolt release with metal mag surround, does it exist?


    I have a 10vt that has a bottom bolt release with plastic frame around the mag and trigger guard. I really like the rest of the rifle and have done some upgrades, have the optics i want, loads that work in it, but the plastic frame around the mag seems kind of cheesy. Did they ever make a factory gun with metal bottom that uses a bottom bolt release? I dont really need a detachable mag i dont mind a hinged floorplate but i would really prefer the replace the plastic with metal if i can

    Yes, the 116/16s in the accustock atleast. Bottom bolt release and metal all the way.

    Both hinged and detachable magazine bottom metal are available from Savage Customer Service in both short and long action.

    My model 10 Predator Max 1 has all metal. It does have the detachable mag, though. Barry
