New Fox B Owner

I've recently been given a 1950 Fox B that had belonged to my father in law. Its definitely well used, and I'm looking at doing a refresh - rust blue the barrels, stock re-finish, etc.

What color should the receiver be? If its blued, its very worn - more of a silver-ish color - with places (behind the barrels, bottom, etc.) that look like they have remnants of some kind of coating. I don't see any case hardening colors. Were they blued?

N/m - it was definitely blued, just very,very worn and dirty!

The 1950 catalog lists it as being gun metal black whatever that means, I'm guessing "Blued".
