    Wood Stock Photo Fest!

This thread is strictly for showing off your aftermarket wood stocks. Doesn't matter if it's hardwood, laminate, 2x4 or ?? - if it's made of wood show it off here! Don't forget to specify the brand/pattern of the stock and the type or color of the wood.

(please try to keep the commentary to a minimum as I want this to ultimately be a reference post people can look at to see color/pattern combo's and the like without having to filter through pages and pages of chit-chat)

My home made savage with Richards Microfit. First time doing.a stock. I now have great respect for stock builders.

Great fun building this gun. Been over a year off and on. Pretty amateurish but it gets the job done.

Factory wood (probably beechnut) Minwax Golden Ooak stain. Minwax satin spray poly. Ebony stained fore end with white automotive pinstripe. Grip cap and butt spacers are cut from a plastic sheetrock mud bucket.

Love the ingenuity with the ebony stain and pin strip to make a faux forend tip with Maple spacer. Very clever! Also nice to see a rifle with proper sights, they're getting pretty rare these days.

The tupperware stock that came on my Savage 16 LWH did not cut it for me. Recently found an older discontinued factory top bolt release Savage 14 Classic stock made with American walnut. Used 0000 steel wool to dull the thick factory high-gloss finish. Applied three coats of Tru-Oil gunstock finish to give it a softer satin finish. Replaced the hard rubber recoil pad with a Old English Pachmayr Decelerator grind-to-fit recoil pad and upgraded to all metal bottom part in SS. The switch from plastic to wood and metal added 12 oz to the rifle. Also bedded the action and recoil lug. Now consistently shoots 0.5 - 0.6" 3-shot groups with hand loads.

My newest build... Keystone Sporting Arms Revolution stock. Laminate with red and grey dyes. I don't think they make this stock anymore...

Finish was four brushed coats of Captains, followed by a thorough sanding several weeks later, then one sprayed coat using a gravity fed gun.
Banning a gun will not solve what is a mental health crisis inflamed by incendiary rhetoric on social and television media. The first amendment in this case is less precious and more likely the causal factor than the second amendment.

here is a stock I've had for a good while. it is a semi finished Fajin from the 70s. the rifle residing in it now is a intermediate length model 48 Mauser chambered in .250AI. It has a single shot insert and is a very nice varmit gun. there are many coats of hand rubbed oil on this one.
