Hi new here. I own one Savage and LOVE it. I have never joined a forum but have gotten tons of info from them. I reload, seldom hut anymore have several ar type rifles that I enjoy. Gonna be needing some help as I intend to build a custom rifle. I also need some help identifying the one I own. It is a 112 single shot 22-250 varmint contour blued action ss barrel non accu trigger. bought it used and with my hand loads it is boring as heck to shoot, one teeny little hole shot after shot at 100 yards. I am sure that is no surprise to you guys from what I have read on here.
Anyways I dont want to touch it it shoots so well. If I did and I couldnt get it back the way it was I would be mad at myself. So a real good excuse for another rifle darn it.
So here is my delima. What caliber? I dont like a lot of recoil I prettty muck have 100-300 yards covered. So maybe a 600 yard or so would be good for up to elk. I doubt I would ever use it but who knows. Well that hello and thanks in advance.

I live in upstate SC so if anybody needs a hog or coyote hunting buddy I am in.

I would look at building a 6.5 creedmoor or buy one
