Set your protrusion between .040 and .050 and it will work fine. Some say as little as .035. I don't go that short but HEY! whats .005"?
Can you make the firing pin in the bolt strike a little deeper? Maybe best group action screw tension is less that required for firing pin to always work properly or am I asking for problems?

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
The firing pin will only penetrate the primer .025" no matter how much more protrusion you have.
