    Need Help?

I’ve got this stock 308 striker with 20 MOA base, Burris 3x12 scope and four Weigand rings, a good shooter sighted in dead on at 200 yards. Had my gunsmith cut, crown and headspace a new model 12 308 barrel to 17’’. The scope adjustment bottom out down and to the left in an attempt to sight it in this morning. What happen and how to fix it?

After the process of elimination it may be something with the barrel chamber alignment, I bought the barrel as new on ebay, the smith said he removed and replace the base without any problems.

What happened when you shot it at 25 yards?
The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.

got it on paper at 25 yards, adjust the scope to match point of impact, moved target to 100 yards. Scope bottom out at about 8" high and 2" on the right of center of the target.

Problem solved, removed and cleaned the base, replaced the scope with a 30mm rifle scope with more adjustment everything worked out well with plenty adjustment left. Sighted in 200 yards.
