    Help with 24v

Has anyone successfully removed and replaced the hinge pin in a 24v receiver? The locking bolt is jammed tight in mine and the action won't open. Any suggestions appreciated.

    Could be done.

Can you take the butt stock off and get at the internals from the back to release it?

Yes, I have it apart, the bolt is really stuck. Been trying to get it apart for quite a while. Recently bought a slide hammer for another purpose, and will try it next. If it fails, I may have to resort to removing the hinge pin.

It's a 24V, I'm just wondering what the top caliber is? Are you handloading for it? Seems like you must have had a hot load in there for it to jam up that bad.

Top barrel is 222. It was hard to open when i got it. Got worse over time. Not so much from use as I rarely shot it. Don't think I ever shot the lower barrel. At this point, if the slide hammer doesn't move it, and removing the hinge pin ruins the receiver, I won't be out much.
