60 gr in a 223 with 7 twist

hornady 60 gr pills in y 223 with a 7 twist..What do you think the results will be?

Anyone tried the lighter bullets in a fast twist?..Time and weather permiting
I will try them at 100 yards...

I've shot 40gr v-max's in a 1:7 with no ill effect's. I don't think the cartridge has enough velocity to get the rpms up to where the bullets will vaporize from centrifugal force. the 30's maybe.

there's a new trend among the long range shooting crowd that seem to believe that faster twists help keep the bullet stabilized when transitioning through the transonic barrier so who knows it may work out well for you.

I am hoping it works..Would be a great bullet for 300 yard match shooting..Unless of course there is high winds..

I have a RAR 223 8T, it shoots 55 FBHP's lights out at 100 yds, 3 shots will hide behind a dime. You may have to try more than one 60gr bullet, but should be no problem in getting good accuracy out the 60's.

I have a Savage F/TR in .223 with a seven twist, 30" barrel.

55's and below, no good at all and seem to split up before hitting 100 yard target.
69's ok and 73's very, very good.

Noname I was shooting a score match a few years ago in very windy conditions, distance was 200 yards, don't remember wind speed, barrel was a 1:9 twist with 60gr. Sierra's and a near max load of IMR 4895. As I shot a gust of wind started and over the 200 yard course it moved just over 7" to the left of POA, so IMO don't bother with the 60's go as heavy as possible or do what I did build a 6mm or 30 cal. for shooting distance.

Oh I normally shoot the 80 gr bergers,just wondering about the lighter bullets..Also have shot the
90 gr bergers..A guy gave me the box of 60's so I just have to try them. Hate to have unused bullets
sitting idle..
