The fates and finding a new savage

Today, I took off to one of my gunstore hang outs and there it was. A SS MODEL 12 left port right bolt 6 norma br with a red trigger and three action screws (single shot). This thing calipers a full honest inch at the crown but isn't quite like the one in the SAVAGE Website in that the barrel is not fluted. The barrel is marked 12" twist (I would have rather had the 1:8 but this is very nice as is). The gun was on the consignment rack with no box. The action, bolt, and bore appear as new (minimal if any shooting was done with this gun). SN is G7759xx so it is a recent build. I paid the $700 asked and left with my second Savage rifle. (First is a 12V that I bought 4 weeks ago). I believe this to be a 12 LRPV Left Port. The barrel is not fluted and remains a full inch at the crown, but, other than that this appears to be what it is. Does this sound right? thanks rc

Sounds like a great deal. It is a 12 LRPV, just a bit older than the fresh fluted batch. I have 0ne in .223 and love it
