give me the goody on the 17wsm

Ok fellas the 17 wsm has been out long enough that I know a few of you have one.
What I want to know is the real world stuff. Not the FPS or the Rifle working it self. I want real world use. Is it better than the 22 wmr for larger pest? Or is the 22 mag still the poachers prince?
Im wanting one for shooting hogs in the head in the big rich neighborhoods I control the hogs for. Do you think I should keep old faithful my 40 yr old 22mag or can I gain a few yards? And is the noise much louder?
And last I was thinking the Thumbhole heavy barrel bmag will probably shoot well. But my old mag at 50 yards I can shoot pigs in the ear hole I have done it literally hundreds of times. Is the wsm giving that kind of accuracy? Oh and do they make a solid bullet for the wsm? That important something that doesn't blow up on a fly or bettle on the way.

Guess that answers my question.
Another toy cartridge being made no real use other than paper or blowing up ground rats. I guess Ill keep useing my old22mag and pitbull dogs.
