    Hello from Commiefornia (SoCal)

Hi everyone. New to the board. Not to shooting. I've been shooting off and on since I was 8. I did a lot of trap shooting from the time I was 10 until I was 16. Kind of a casual shooter going to the range occasionally after that. Until about 4 years ago. My wife had decided she wanted to learn to shoot better. I'd taught her basic safety and handling since we had a couple of firearms in the house. But she wanted to get better. After a few trips to the range and some more study on my part to make myself a better shooter, I caught the bug again. The collection and my knowledge base is expanding rapidly. I've really begun to enjoy learning about firearms history and development. (Ian McCollum's Forgotten Weapons is my favorite YouTube channel) And recently my interest in longer range shooting has been piqued by a couple of Outdoor Network shows. I just picked up my first .308. An Axis II XP SS barreled action. I've always shot rifles with pistol grips way better than a traditional stock. So I dropped it in an MDT LSS Chassis. I have A LOT to learn about this and this is my entry level rig into this type of shooting. My local gun clubs rifle range goes out to 300 yards. There's a few spots I know where I can stretch her legs out a bit more. So we'll see how I do.

    My new Savage:

This is my most recent AR build:

Shooting is only one of my hobbies. I also love riding motorcycles, racing R/C Cars, I used to be an avid mountain bike and BMX racer until a serious neck injury ended that. I love racing, I love competition. I've done some USPSA matches. Enough to know just how little I know about shooting, despite doing it for 30 years. I do a little hunting. Not a ton of good hunting in San Diego so it's limited.

Thanks. And yes, we need him to win another title this year. Gonna be tough with Maverick on the same bike though. And that's just the competition from within the Yamaha camp.
