Forster competition micro seating due.
I have the RCBS 2-die set for my 6.5 Creedmoor and I have noticed that my RDF bullets don't seem to fit exactly right and many of them end up with a small ring around the tip. I contacted RCBS by email and eventually they responded that their die does not fit the RDF or VLD bullets and that a custom seat plug would be needed (see response below in all caps the way it came.).
What seating dies are you using successfully with these bullets?
from RCBS:
IM SORRY SIR BUT OUR SEAT PLUGS DO NOT MATCH UP WITH THE VLD OR RDF TYPE OF BULLETS. A CUSTOM SEAT PLUG WOULD BE NEEDED.
Thank you for choosing RCBS
Have a great day

Forster competition micro seating due.
Good call on the Forster. I think Redding also makes seating stems with derlin inserts specifically for vld bullets, to keep from marring bullets. I do not know if they will thread into an rcbs die.
I use Lee with no issues
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.
I bought the Forster set with the Benchrest seating die. I called them and they said they thought it should fit with no problems. They said that if it doesn't fit, send it back with 4 or 5 bullets and they will modify it
Custom competition rcbs dies. I have one set with multiple different sleeves and inserts. What I do is use the correct sleeve obviously, and then before I install the seating stem, I do a rough fit to see which one will work on a VLD. Generally it is one caliber less. Keeps your projectiles lined up straight to the mouth of the case and won't deform the tip.
Just a side note, you are sure that the ring is from improper fit and not from too much neck tension, correct?

I'm using Forster Ultra Micrometer with my 130 Berger AR Hybrids
Whidden dies here, very happy with them.
