Welcome
Hey all. My name is Scott; I live in West Palm Beach. I'm an engineer for a home automation/security company. I'm also a motorcycle enthusiast, not only riding but customizing and paint. I used to own a speed shop and taught Taekwondo for many years.
This past weekend I went to the gun show at the South Florida Fair Grounds looking for either a Ruger LC9-II .380 as a back up to my Ruger LC9s 9mm carry, OR a 12 gauge shotgun. Nice range, huh? LOL. Story is, it had to be one or the other; I ain't made of money ... the wife reminds me. After looking around for a couple hours, pricing pistols and rifles at each applicable booth I ended up with a Stevens 350 12 gauge and couldn't be happier. I figured I carry already and even though I have another rifle at home, the wife would appreciate the sentiment. She grew up in a rural town and is quite used to shotguns. In fact, she calls this one hers. Love that crazy gal. I'm looking to add a tactical light and extra shell holder. It's primary use is for home defense, so hopefully those extra shells wouldn't be needed. But I'm a 'toy' guy, so why not.
Like I stated, my carry is a Ruger LC9s 9mm. It replaced my Bersa 380 Thunder (sold to get the shotgun). I also have a Hi-Point 995TS 9mm Carbine rifle (scope, laser, light, extra mags mounted to stock). It's a bit overkill, but I like it. Lastly is my Charter Arms .38 Special. Used to be my carry until going into the semi-auto world.
Guns I used to have were a beautiful Kimber CDP-II .45 and a Glock .40 compact (sold during my divorce to my practice wife 10 years ago), and a RIA .45 1911 (traded for a non-running motorcycle) - all too **** big for me to conceal carry, but I did however uncomfortably. I'm 5'7" and 165 lbs. Just always felt too big on my waist. Also had a Marlin 30-06 and Remington 30-06 (primarily hunting, transferred to my son).
I'm here to read up on other users experiences, advice and accessory opinions. I don't get too active on weapons forums, but I'll try to input when I can. Glad to be here - That's all I got.
