99f date of manufacture?

I have acquired a 99f and am trying to verify it's date. The serial number is 4530xx and the lever boss code is 4J. By the serial number it would be 1947, but the boss code would be 1958. Which is correct?

I believe the F was introduced in 1955 so 1958 should be correct.

With that serial number there shouldn't even be a date code on it, sure the serial number is right?

With a serial number in that range I'm thinking an EG or an R is what it has to be.
