    Difference in bolts?

I have a mod 110 in 223 cal and want to rebarrel it in a cal that has a .473 bolt. Purchased a new bolt from Midway and when I compared the new to the old, the new one is shorter than the old. Also the firing pin won't fit in it. So what gives? By the way my rifle is left-hand.

you buy a bolt head for a .308 short action or .30-06 long action? 110s are long action :) You have an old .223 if it is a 110 and not a 10. there lies yoyr bolt head length difference.

PS.... Don't give away your rare .223 long action bolt head

The firing pin is the old large firing pin.
A new bolt head will be for a small firing pin.
The new head will need to be drilled out to fit your pin.
I believe a #25 bit is the right size.
