Hello from the Pacific Northwest

Well, not really new here, but have been gone for probably 15 years, even forgot my password. I'm an old timer 80 years young, with lots of gunsmithing under my belt. I got FFL in 1959 & ran the largest gunsmithing shop on the west coast from 1990 to 1995 when I had to shut it down because of so much business & could not hire enough competent gunsmiths (even from the schools). At that time I was warranty for 8 major US gun companies (Savage included). When I shut it down, I moved over to manufacturing obsolete firearm parts. Sold the business to our son when the wife & I retired in 2003.

I am now picking up some of the many parts guns that an old gunsmith acquires over time and restoring them.

Over the time I was running the businesses, I put together a website, covering many items, fishing, hunting, outboard motor repair also GUN and GUNSMITHING type articles. Two that may interest some of the forum members, that cover the Savage 340, one being http://leeroysramblings.com/Gun%20Ar..._bolt_act.html

I hope that I may be able to be of some assistance on this forum
