I suspect with those quality check parameters we will be hearing more about Athlon. No frills is the best policy anyway.
Excitement didn't last very long
Athlon Talos BTR 4X14X44 scope arrived evening of 1/23. On 1/24 I unpacked and inspected it. Installed the battery per instructions and turned the illumination dial on to view the various settings. As I was adjusting the magnification up, the illumination went out. As I turned it back down, it came back on. At that point, if I apply the slightest pressure to adjust the magnification, the illumination comes on and off. It goes on and off at random, all thru out the power range.
Quick call to Athlon Support and I have to ship it back and wait a week, or so for a replacement. I was told QC checks for illumination only. It turned on, so it passed. I hope my feedback changes those tests.
I was on the fence with the Athlon (1st scope) and Vortex (old favorite). Time will tell, I guess.

The Dunning-Kruger effect is alive and well.
Maybe the battery was a little loose in the housing ?
