    Broken Savage Bolt. Help!!

Last weekend when I removed my bolt from my Savage 93 FVSS and tried to put it back, I noticed it would not go in.

When I took it out, I saw that the front half of the bolt, was rotated to the wrong angle to line up with the action. The front bolt half of the bolt would now rotate freely, irrespective of the back half of the bolt where the handle is.

Has anyone had any problem like this, or know how to fix it??

I think I might have to send the gun to Savage, but I'm a little hesitant since I'm not the original owner of the gun, so not covered by the warranty.

Don't panic.....the bolt is supposed to rotate. Line up the front end of the bolt with the flat side down. Insert until the bolt is over the trigger, then align the bolt handle to the slot and fully insert.

    Thanks SharpShooter.

Ugh, total noob move by me. But had me worried there for a while.

Thought it was like my old bolt action rifle.

    Thanks again
