    223 to 204

Anything I will need to do to the bolt stop or mag follower to convert a rifle from 223 to 204??

Looking at buying a take off 204 and fitting to rifle that is currently a 223.

Yep. 204's parent case is the 223 magnum.
I'm a firm believer in the theory that if it bleeds, I can kill it.

Yes, nice catch. Fangers didn't want to cooperate with the brain.

Been wanting to do the same exact swap but finding a take off .204 ruger barrel in Canada seems near impossible.

Just to add to the OPs thread rather than hijack, bolt face diameter is the same for the .223 Remington and .204 Ruger at .384".
other calibers that share that diameter are 17 Remington,.222 Remington among others.

I did exactly that and there were no issues. Bought the used barrel here and stashed the 1 in 9 twist .223 barrel in the closet with the idea of having it reamed to .22-250 for a fast twist deer and predator caliber. Before I got to the reaming job I bought a 1 in 10 Ruger American. So now I may just swap back and forth between the .204 and the .223.

Wasn't sure if the mag box and follower would be different for the straighter walls of the 204 case and cause feeding issues.

Be a good candidate to have reamed for a .223 wylde chamber.
