Welcome aboard
Hello everyone, I just purchased my first savage 10FCP-SR. I am happy with it out of the box, build quality looks to be very nice. I did a ton of research and it was up between a used Rem 700 with scope and bipod for 1K or this, I chose the 10FCP because of the accutrigger and stock plus it was new. I am now into looking for glass. A lot of folks tell me to get a Nightforce and get it over with but I have also looked at the votex and nikon. My goal for this is hunting and LDS. I am hoping to find a scope that I can do both with. My budget is about $500 so that leaves the Nightforce out, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Welcome - lots of threads on optics here. Read through them and get an idea.
One thing about glass - once you look through high-quality glass you'll never want to look through less.

Believe it or not, I shoot and hunt with a Bench Rest NightForce Scope, the old style with the illuminated reticles. I also have Vortex's I hunt with, good scope.
Quality Glass is sometimes more important than the barrel on the rifle, IMO.
