    7 saum


    ive been searching a few days but came short. i want to convert my model 10 to 7 saum and already have a magnum bolt head, i just dont know if i have to replace the firing pin or anything else in the bolt? thanks for any info.

    If you stick with a magnum (.540) bolt face you will be fine.

    I would check the length of the Saum bolt head. Those were about an 1/8 inch longer than a factory short action standard bolt head. You will increase the spring pressure adjusting the firing pin. The only solution I know of is to shorten the spring 1/8th. Then you have an end that is not flat. you can shorten some of the other firing pin parts but that's not for a novice. I've done the workarounds but I have access to the tooling. some of the results worked perfect and some where iffy. I don't like iffy.
