    Bolt ?s

Ok I have a left handed 22-250 and a right handed 223. Now I'm thinking about building a 20-250 but want to do it on my right handed action can I swap the bolt head from my left handed 22-250 to my right handed 223 bolt?

The left hand bolt will fit, but it will not function in the right hand gun.

It will extract fine, it just won't eject.

S the bolt heads are orientated for left or right hand actions? I know the bolt and bolt handle are.

If you put the LH bolthead in the RH action with the extactor on bolt handle side, the ejector plunger will be on the left and above the centerline.

This will try to eject the brass down and into the action.

If you try with the extractor opposite of the handle side, the plunger will try the throw the brass into the bolt raceway.

You could run it without an ejector and take the brass out by hand.

Bolt handles, rear baffles, bolt bodies, and bolt heads are all "LH/RH" specific.
