    Re-barreling .223 Axis to .308?

I've seen a lot of threads on re-barreling the Axis but it wasn't clear to me if they were changing calibers or not. Is it possible to re-barrel a .223 to a .308? If so what is involved? Just change barrel and magazine or new bolt too?

You will need a new bolt head, barrel and magazine.

This is correct. I have changed barrels between 7mm08 to 308 and only needed to change the barrel and set the headspace. When I changed between .223 to 308 I changed the barrel, bolt head and magazine. Savage makes it that easy.
