    scope for moving targets

Setting up an ar for coyotes and was wondering what everyone's opinion is on a good scope for those coyotes on the run. Got a prostaff 4-12×40 on it at the moment and killed a coyote on the run at about 300yds yesterday but had a hard time getting on him. Need some advice

I use a 3.5-10x50 Leupold on my AR, and it works the best if I set it on 6x for running coyotes. If they hang up, you can alway crank up the power. I also have a Burris Fastfire mounted on the side for close shots. If they come in around 25 yds, the scope is useless.

Ya, the 50mm would give a better field of view. I have a 2.8-10×44 aetec in my shop. Maybe I should try it

I can't see giving 2 grand for a scope to kill a coyote, but I'm sure they're great. I have looked at the vortex strike eagle tho and the primary arms 1-6×24. Field of view is on par with all 3

It has the best field of view out there. For some that kind of money is nothing. I work with a guy who spends 25000 for a deer lease. He is on 4 leases.

I like my PST 2.5-10 for hog hunting with my grendel ar.. Lots of thick woods where I hunt. Gets dark quick there. The illuminated reticle helps get on those fast movers. We are trying to eliminate them so multiple shots are the norm. Close shooting

Wouldn't be my pick for.long.range though

I don't use a bolt action on moving targets but I use a 3x9 with open mounts so I can see the iron sights on my marlin 336. I've taken 3 running whitetails over the years with this setup, Body shots at less than 150 yards.

Vortex Strike Eagle, I have one on my AR10 in 7mm08, pretty good scope.

I liked the Nikon P223 2-8x32mm I had other than the small objective was a little limiting compared to a preferable 40mm. Think I still have it listed for sale down in the classifieds to boot as I upgraded to a NightForce SHV.
