    Removing bolt body lettering


    Anyone know an easy way to remove savage name from bolt body

    Depends on the finish. If it is shiny like chrome, a jewelers /polishing wheel. Black or jeweled prepare for Cerakote or something different.

    I used a cut off piece of an AR barrel I shortened.
    The 1/2x28 muzzle threads will screw right into bolt body.
    I grinded the barrel piece into a size that would fit in my drill press chuck. (1/2")
    Just turned it slow and wrapped sand paper around it till I got my desired finish.
    This body was the shiny jeweled body. I removed all the jeweling also.

    After thinking about if all you're wanting gone is the letters this way is probably not going to work!
