    Which Chassis System ?

    Hi Guys,

Seeking your thoughts and experiences. Have just purchased a Savage 10 FCP-SR and am looking around at aftermarket chassis systems. I’m not too worried about the look, more interested in the accuracy I can squeeze out of the setup for long range work.
Have done a bit of research and XLR Element and the KGR 180 Alpha are my front runners.
Where I am folding stocks are illegal and so is the full AR style barrel shroud so need to steer away from them.
    Any opinions are welcome.

Can't speak for the KGR, but I can say you wouldn't be disappointed with the Element...

I went with the KRG 180 Alpha for my Savage 223 Varmint 12. There are a number of excellent chassis from which to choose, but for me, the pistol grip angle with thumb rest put the KRG on top. The angle of the AR style pistol grip on other chassis systems put the grip too close to my thumb when shooting from the right side of the grip (as opposed to gripping with the thumb wrapped around the grip, pistol style). The 180 Alpha can use the less expensive MDT polymer 223 magazines - assembly took about 10 minutes.

I built a 20 Practical on an Element. I've never had to put such little work into building an accurate rifle. I had it together inside an hour, and it shoots consistently in the .3s with plenty of groups in the .2s. I don't think I'd like a chassis hunting in cold weather, but it sure was a lot easier than having to pillar bed a stock to get that accuracy.
