    Vintage .303 Savage 99 Ad


    Saw this on another gun forum, and figured some of you all here would like to see it too.

    I've got one.



    And I finally figured out who Old No 7 is here and if memory serves he's got an 1895 SRC as well.

    That is way cool. Correct me if I'm wrong, but weren't the first Savages built by Marlin until Savage open his factory in 1899?? What kind of markings does it have as to manufacture??

    Nope, that wasn't me...

    I've got an early (late 30's) checkered F Takedown (which John Callahan lettered as a "Model 99-F Lightweight Takedown") that has the Lyman 29 1/2 peep sight on it as pictured in this older posting of mine.

    I just won another one too -- not delivered yet -- an early 80's Model A in .250-3000 that looks pristine! Can't wait to see it in person.

    Same as all my 1895's, there's a JM or sometimes just M stamped on the bottom of the barrels for John Marlin factory.
