Mine is, and I wondered if they all were. I've also got a Meriden, basically the same rifle with a different safety, which is also a take down. My Savage is a 109XXX # (can't remember the last three numbers) and is in pretty good shape. I had a tang sight which I applied, at least I think so; can't remember where I got it.
Sorry for the delay in responding, and you probably already have your answer, but here goes anyway: As far as I know, the only pump .22s that weren't a takedown were the Stevens Visible Loader and the very early Winchester M1890. Others may exist, maybe some foreign made ones, but I'm not aware of any others.
