    New Savage Owner

I'm primarily interested in learning to shoot medium to long range accurately. The reviews of the Savage bolt action rifles combined with an attractive deal led me to purchase a model 10 FCP-K.

    Thank you.
I acquired the rifle from the original owner. He put the Choate stock & Nikon Pro-Staff scope on it. I didn't get the bipod in the deal but have acquired a suitable bipod for it. I also have a few spare magazines on the way. They hurt the wallet a bit at ~$40 each, when they can be found that cheap.
I shot it for the first time today using run of the mill Federal Eagle 55 grain ammo that I had on hand. I was able to make a good group at 50 yards, and a good beginning group at 200 yards. I'll see soon enough if match grade 68 grain ammo makes a difference. As I said, I'm learning..
So far, I'm pleased with the rifle. It's a pleasure to shoot. I can envision a more powerful scope in the future in order to stretch out the range. I reload, but this will lead to my first reloading for high accuracy experience.
