    Savage 116

I have a 116 that is about 10 yrs old. Can someone tell me what size shank I have and the action screw spacing based on the year.

Factory action should be small shank barrel. My understanding is all long actions have one screw spacing. Its the short action models that have different spacings. I have several flat top rear receiver "F" prefix serial number rifles whose spacing is same as current "G" prefix serial number actions.

    What caliber is it?

As hailstone stated it probably is a small shank, but just to make sure, it will help rule out large shank by making sure it was not a RUM action.
