Have only seen one picture of this rifle, it appears to look in good shape. I have requested more pictures especially of the upper lever. Supposed to be a 1950's M99EG. Pistol grip and checkering. What does the EG mean? What else should I look at besides case colors on the upper lever and general condition? Should I expect any problem with the counter or the rotary magazine? Bare rifle with sling swivels and Weaver Tip-Off mounts, should the value be around $6-700? I believe the seller is an individual... not a gun shop. Idea is to find a B&L scope and adjustable mount to make this a "Vintage" rifle. What kind of accuracy should I expect?

I like the idea of a vintage scope, might as well go period correct! I have three 99 takedowns and they all shoot better than you would expect! Here's a picture of my target from my 1906 vintage .25-35. It's a five shot group!
I recently picked up a 23D in .22 Hornet and installed vintage Weaver C4, 'cause old eyes don't like open sights, peep are ok. I adapted a Brownell's universal dovetail to fit the existing factory D&T'ed holes
I think EG stands for pistol grip and solid frame.
EG is pistol grip, non takedown, Schnabel forstock, rotary mag, brass counter.
Expect 1" accuracy maybe better if you handload, with a modern scope! All bets are off if using vintage glass. Rotary magazine shouldn't give trouble. Easy to wind the spring up a little more if it won't feed right. No worries at that price, check for extra holes in wood metal and cracks in wood especially around the top tang.
