30 gr of varget and a berger 105 hybrid or VLD jammed .002 into the.lands
I wanted a centerfire benchrest gun but, everything I looked at was out of my reach. Then I found (for an affordable price to me) a Savage F-Class in 6mm Norma BR. I was a bit apprehensive about "used with benchrest accuracy" but, I knew the price left me with enough to replace barrel if necessary. Bought some Hornady dies (don't like them) and Lapua brass and had 95gr Sierra & 105 A-Max from my 243. So then I made generic loads (29gr. Varget) and went to range this morning. Didn't take chronograph because I just wanted to see if it shot ok (no major problems).
I'm pleased!

30.5g varget or RL-15 CCI BR 4s 105g berger hybrid jammed to .020 off.
I have the same rifle, right out of the box with no mods not even bedded. Mine likes 105 Berger hybrids with 29.2 RL15 & CCI 450 in Lapua brass.
Buying used is smart and if it were me I would buy a great quality barrel along with some bedding and off to the races.
Willing to give back for what the sport has done for me!
The only range I have to shoot 600 yards is over 100 miles away. I used this rifle & load twice this year in their factory class bench rest. 1 first place & 1 second place with there being 1 point different between the 2 scores. Might have shot better if the rifle had a better shooter on the trigger.
