Folks,
I would like to buy a spare magazine for my Predator Hunter in 6.5 Creedmoor, in will not be available for ten days due to Californias "cooling off" period. I was able to find part number 55153. but its for the .243 Win, I know that the 6.5CM and .243 close but is this the right mag? Thanks A2
Its gonna work.
Thanks hereinaz!!!!!
As you read and understand more about cartridges, you'll find that typically there is a parent case that spawns many children. For instance, the 308 cartridge is the parent case for the 22-250, 243, 260, which is essentially the same as the 6.5 Creedmoor, the 7 millimeter 08, among many others. So, with a barrel swap you could run any one of the above in your rifle and wouldn't know a difference.
Is there any difference in any of the Savage short action DBM's? I'm thinking the parent case for the 22-250 is a 250-3000 Savage, introduced in 1915.
Correct on the parent of the 22-250... but, you can make 22-250 brass and the others from .308. Calling it the parent case for all those calibers was not accurate.
There are some differences in DBMs. There is at least one metal DBM, the newer plastic tab mag, AI compatible DBM, and Savage proprietary AI type mags. Some of them are interchangeable in the same stock... It can get complicated.
I had two magazines for my mdl 16 in 260, both had the plastic latch. I put the barreled action in a wood stock with a SS trigger guard and bottom metal. All I had to do to make my magazines work was cut the plastic latch off, they snap right in and feed fine.
