I messed up - advice needed

I got a little "trigger happy" when looking around Boyd's and ordered one of their rapid-fire stocks (guessing NOS, unresolved custom orders, etc), which have no return. My dilemma is that I didn't know enough and their site for that particular item or the help were very descriptive and I erroneously ordered a long action for the Axis .308, which as I understand it is a short-action cartridge and magazine (about a 1/2"-ish difference).

That being said... what are my options? So far, the only thing I can think to do is try to sell it to someone that wants an upgrade. The order is still processing. I've emailed and tried calling a couple of times.

I'm not completely opposed to stocking it for a future build, but that's a very last option for me.

    Thx in advance

Would probably sell quick on the classified section here.

Boyd's sticks pretty hard to their policy. But, good stocks for the money. I put up with the process to get one cause they work. I did have luck cancelling an order, once...

Thx. Been talking to others offline as well and that's leaning towards the average consensus.

Just use a long action magazine. I'm sure a .308 will feed fine.

Like a .30-06 mag? I was wondering about that, but didn't know if there would be any safety concerns.

Why would there be a safety concern? There are a lot of shooters that re-barreled long actions for short action cartridges and used the longer magazine to their advantage.

That means that they load their .308 cartridge longer than the factory short action, so the only way they can shoot it is in the gear you have. Picture the bullet poking out really long out of a .308, so far it wouldnt fit in your short action mag...

Well... stock came in and long action axis mag purchased. Hopefully taking it to the range tomorrow.
