Bedding boyds stock

I have a boyds thumbhole i would like to bed. Since the stock doesnt have pillars installed and dont have the proper equip to install them. Can and will a glass bedding job be just as effective? Do i fill magazine well with modeling clay? stagerfeed by the way.

I just glass bedded a classic. I din't use any clay or playdough. just don't pour the epoxy in! Its workable if you get some in, that you can cut or grind it back out.
A little is all it takes. Make sure you use your release agent, I take it you've read the articles about what to do...

Yes, but float the tang with masking tape as you do the barrel, saves a little work with the grinder.

today i pillar and glass bed the boyds stock. Was nervous first one and all. Used lamp rod material for pillars and devcon the action. Just waiting for the glass to set up to remove and see how it all turned out! Hopefully everything turn out. Pictures to come.
