Difference in ejectors?

My ejector spring took an unintended trip into the dark recesses of my basement last night when I was disassembling my bolt. Ooops.

Checked Brownells, my preferred vendor, but they are out of stock.

Numrich has them. They have several options in fact and they vary in price by a buck or two. Silly question, but can I get a confirmation to my belief that all ejectors for a long action are the same?

This is for my 112 stagger feed.

AFAIK the ejectors and spring are same for all. The only difference is if its the old style or the newer on with the follower( tail). You can buy both directly from Savage. https://store.savagearms.com/partfinder

best way to complete this project it to take the bolt head apart in a Ziplock bag. You can still see what you're doing, but the parts stay in the bag when they pop!

Called Savage to confirm. They said yes, that basically there are two types - early fixed ejector and current spring based ejector - and all spring based ones are the same.

They were even kindly enough to send one my way free of charge.

Will be nice to turn the deer rifle back into a repeater!

Very good idea! I have taken apart many a spring loaded bicycle part under a rag in my day. I can do that blindfolded. Bolt head disassembly is still kind of new to me so will take a few more times before can do it in the dark.

For educational purposes the other type or Fixed had a piece of metal that attached to the trigger hanger pin as you pulled the bolt back the ejector followed a slot on the bottom of the bolthead and ejected the case out of the ejection window.
