    Finally complete

Well it took almost 9 months but I finally completed my first build. The idea started because of you all on this site, after reading all your posts I got the itch really bad to build my own rifle. I ordered my barrel before I ever had an action to work on. I finally found a Stevens 200, .308 caliber new in box but quite a few years old, purchased. All I needed now was some required tools. Here's a list of my components:

Steven's 200, .308 caliber purchased from local man for 225.00

Apache 6.5 Creedmoor Bull barrel well worth the wait, Jim makes one great barrel

Choate Ultimate Sniper purchased from EABCO

Vortex Viper HST, 6-24-50 scope purchased from Optics Planet

    Action wrench
    Barrel nut wrench
Barrel nut Jim was very helpful and his ship time is the best
    Precision heavy duty recoil lug
    Forster GO-NO GO gauges

Everything went together perfectly, probably due to all of your instructions that I read for the last 8-10 months.I also adjusted the factory trigger down to 3.25 lb with no creep. So here's a few pictures of the finished rifle.

I first broke the barrel in,3 shots-good cleaning, repeat 5 times....this is all I do. During this break in period I sighted in at 50 yards. Last 2 sets of 3 were little clovers..cool but only 50 yards out. The next day I shot at 100 yards, to say I was impressed is not enough, I quit after 6 shots because I was afraid to wake from the dream I was having. These 2 groups are the very best I ever shot at 100 yards, with any gun. I hope the pictures are clear...

Groups are .241 and .221. Now I need to find a bigger range.

    I used my reloads:

    H4350 41 gr.
    Sierra 140gr Match King
    CCI primer

I'd like to thank all or you out there, I read so many posts and learned so much. This is a great forum.
