    .204 On A Dillon

Just a question for those .204 diehards. I'm new to the .204. Would it be safe or advisable to load a .204 on a Dillon RL550B?

I load for 2 .204s. I size on a single stage and do the rest on a 550. I have only tried 3 powders. Benchmark flows well. Reloder 10 does OK if you will pause at the bottom of your downstroke. Varget makes a mess but I can't get it to go down a powder funnel either without tapping on it.

I resize with a one station press, prime with an RCBS hand primer, the rest I do on a Dillon 550

Powder is H335, 332, RL15 (slowly) and tac. I get the best results with H335 and h322, meters really well.

scottkr, Have been loading .223 Rem. on a 550B for years. Don't know why .204 wouldn't work also. I deprime w/ Lee collet on Rock Chucker then do what ever case prep is necessary before using the Dillon. Have had great luck w/ A2230 with multiple bullet weights and styles. This powder drops quick & accurate in Dillon for me. Recently bought a Dillon .223 seater die and got excellent concentricity. (better than Redding I'd been using ) I prime on the Dillon. If your shell plate is "timed " properly, you can insure very low bullet run-out and consistant cartridge dimensions. Have a friend getting excellent results in .204 w/ 748 powder. Haven't tried 748 in the dillon so no input as to how consistently it feeds. Hope this helps you. PM me if I can help further, Dale

I load all my ammo on a 550B. Heck I even load the little 17 MachIV. I use Lee collet dies on all cartridges and I do all steps right off the 550B. No need to do the other steps on another press, IMO. I have no problem getting everyone of my rifles to shoot half inch groups. Also, I don't use ball powders for personal reasons. I use VV, Hogden and Accurate and Alliant powders and all are stick type powders and they throw well. Just to give you an example that accurate rounds can be made on a full progressive, heres a target shot with a 222. Keep in mind this is a bone stock rifle.
