For a better chance of finding the info you're looking for, try posting thread in the Vintage Centerfire Rifles section. There are people that frequent that section that don't come into the Introduce Yourself section.
Hi Folks,
I'm new to this forum. I retired a couple of years ago and I enjoy hunting, archery, fishing, clay target sports and even an occasional round of golf and I'm not very good at any of these.
I own a few Savage firearms that include a Model 99c in .308, an Edge in .270, a Mark II .22 heavy Barrel, and a Model 24v in .222/20gauge.
I recently picked up the Savage 99C, but can't seem to find any exact info on what the date of manufacture is. Can anyone here help with that? The serial number is
F563XXX.
