I was browsing through the 99 fourum and it made me think of the 99s in our family. My brother introduced me to his 99 chambered in .250-3000 about ten years ago while on a coyote hunt. We didn't have any luck that day but he let me shoot his rifle and I instantly fell in love with the cartridge and rifle. I spent the next 3 years looking for a 99 of my own in .250-3000. I came across a 1916 take down model that I found on a Arizona hunting forum. Guy didn't know what he had and I picked it up for a steal. Traded a Mosin Nagant with 200 rounds of ammo and a crisp $100 bill for it. That old rifle took a lot of work to find a load it likes but its shoots 75gr Vmaxes right at 3000 fps and will put five in an inch or less pretty consistently so I am very happy with it. It has since became one of my favorite coyote rifles and works really well in thick brush with the quick follow up shots. My older brother always told me that a finer coyote rifle was never made and I would have to agree. Here is a few pictures of the coyotes we have got with our 99s over the last couple seasons feel free to post some of your hunting photos with your 99s.
