    stock modification

I have a new factory laminate thumbhole for a stagger feed (4.25) and am planning to use it with a single feed action I just got.
Question is should I fill in the mag well with a block of wood and epoxy it in then bed the action in, or just leave it and bed the action in.
If I decide to redo the stock while I am at it I'll remove the swivel studs and fill them in also then sand a flat spot for the bench rest, then refinish it by darkening the color a little and clear coating it.
    Any other ideas or suggestions?

If your planning to only shoot bench single shot, I'd epoxy a single shot follower to the action and then just bed the stock as normal.
