Just purchased my second Savage rimfire. First one was model 64 fxe from a big box store. Rifle shot very nicely, but had a lot of issues with feeding from a full magazine. held onto it for about 3 months and traded it in on a Ruger 10/22. Last week I purchased a model Mark II GXP from Dicks sporting goods. Wanted a bolt action to teach a grandson with. Found with the semi-auto he would get the first shot off very well, but all the following became quicker and quicker. Decided the rifle will pay for itself with the savings in ammo in no time. Rifle did not come with the accu-trigger and may have had the heaviest pull I have ever felt. Also if felt like it was traveling thru a gravel trap. It didn't take long to find a solution on the forum. 10 minutes with a fine hone and a different spring and I now have a very smooth fairly light and crisp trigger. I know I am going to enjoy this Savage.
