Purty country you live in....originally from western NC....Personally I like the older flat rear receiver 110's with stagger feed magazines. The 243 you are planning is a very good idea.

Just found you fellas. I'm still looking around here and trying to figure out how things work. I am am old mostly retared fart who has been casting, reloading, and shooting since 1958. Have had a Savage 24 since I was 10 years old and never want to be without at least one of two of'em. Am in the process of building a heavy barrel 1 in 8 twist 243 on a Savage 110 action at the present. Look forward to learning things about the 110 model and have read the many REALLY GOOD articles here. The one on the 110 trigger is absolutely a gem!! I am confused about the bolt timing thing, but I'll work it out.
I am located way up in north Georgia near the Tennessee / North Carolina line. I have already learned some things by reading postings and articles here and look forward to hanging out with you boys. All the best to all of you.

Welcome aboard
That is exactly what I am building WBM, right down to the tactical bolt handle. Thank you boys for the welcome. Maybe I'll see you on down the road. Sure am enjoying reading all the FAQ and other articles and various threads posted here. This is exactly what I was looking for when I found this forum.
Welcome

Welcome to the site!
Welcome Neighbor.
A good wife and a steady job has ruined many a great hunter.
I've been here a week already and no one has flamed me yet. People are actually civil to each other. The forum obviously has a good moderator. What a big difference from the other firearms forums where you can get flamed because today is Monday. Thanks for the welcome. It is a big surprise that I am not accoustomed to, but I am begining to like it a lot.
welcome to the forum.
