    Stevens model 56

Hello all , first time poster here.
I'm in the process of bringing a stevens model 56 back to life but I'm having mis-fire issues with the bolt. I can work the bolt action , drop the bolt to loaded position and the darn thing will release the striker on me. Also does this when manually pulling the cocking piece back.like it's not strong enough to hold its position . Any help is appreciated.

Sounds like your sear is worn out, Numrichs should have a new one.
