    Savage 99 T 250-3000

Hello I was wondering if I could get some help on this one. I have a savage 99 with a 20in barrel in 250- 3000 blc D Front of receiver is stamped T ser#3611xx. Barrel is stamped on bottom with a 6or 9 depends how you look at it , If from muzzle end its a 6. Some one has cut the stock off for a kid I guess( what a shame). First question is what do I have and second what's it worth? other than the stock it's not in bad shape light rust. Has been drilled and taped for scope ,Kind of weird thou side to side.....one more question Please, when I go to get a new stock I have noticed that some have a longer cut for the stock than others....thank you

The SN, front receiver T mark (after removing the stock) and barrel length are correct for a 99T. It's a rare model, and not a whole lot chambered in 250-3000. Unfortunately, the cut stock and drilled and tapped takes a bunch off value. The original sights on the T were very different and if still original, would be worth quite a bit to a collector trying to make their T correct. The original front sight had a red bead. The rear was odd-shaped with kind of 1/4 moon shape with a with vertical white line in the center. The forearm checkering on a 99T was different than all the other 99 models.

Here are two pictures of a 99T 250-3000, full left and one of the rear sight, so you can see what they looked like for comparison to yours.

That looks like it Mine has no checkering on for end ,the rear site is a little different, but stock is checkered but cut way down....boo hoo. the front sight has a marbles dovetailed in and the sight is a 45-w .the rear sight has an adjustable plate in the sight for fine elevation as well as ramp adjust. My 99 eg has even a different set up and I know they are factory.. Do you know if any of the 99 butt stocks are cut different, it seem I read or seen some cut longer in the tang cut...need to find a stock for this one
