458 Socom, 458x2 inch American, 338 Federal or 358 Winchester

Thinking of putting a barrel on a Axis 30-06 action. to be used as a paper puncher more then anything, Cal listed in title are in the running. Which would you choose and type of barrel (lenght, bull etc.) Help me decide. Will be shooting cast 95 percent of the time.

I would include the 450 Marlin in there too, and it would be my choice. Factory ammo would be harsh, but you could easily use 45-70 cast load data and .458 cast bullets are everywhere in weights from 300 to 500 plus if you desire and they will fit in the chamber.

Have a 45-70 Marlin, but no 35 cal rifles. Starting to lean to the 358 win.

Was thinking hard on the 458 Socom but a very good deal on a 358 win bull barrel came up.
